Digging Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles?

Have you checked out the new Terminator TV show? I admit to being highly skeptical when I first heard about it. To paraphrase Stacey's comment on it, haven't we been to the well a few too many times on this one? Hell, I haven't even seen T3 yet.
After watching the first two episodes, though, I've got to admit - I think it's got some promise. Granted, they've created at least two new timelines within the first two episodes, but hey - Star Trek gave us new anomalies that buggered up the timestream constantly, right? Anyone remember the whole Tasha Yar business? But it was good television, and it's fantasy, folks. It's all about possibilities.
So when I heard that someone sat down and tried to untangle the yarn barf that seems to have been created with the latest Terminator offering, I had to check it out. And it makes a lot of sense. Todd Seavey, you rock. After reading this article, a lot of things are more clear - and I think I may even sit down and watch T3 after all. I'll just make sure I have a good knitting project in hand, just in case.

Like you, I was skeptical, but I have to admit, I'm digging it. Except that they make the character of John so weak... Maybe that will change. And what's up with how well the female terminator seems to know him?

I think they're continuing with that whiny teenage kid bit that Cameron (that would be James, the director, not the character in the show) began establishing in T2. I think they're trying to lay the ground for developing the character, as if to show how he went from this whiny emo kid to the leader of a resistance. Make sense?

Oh, and the Terminator must have extensive files on him and everything that's happened thus far, so that would answer how well she knows him.

I think he was showing a little bit of ballsyness this week... I'm liking it. Don't bother watching T3...

I agree, he started ordering Mom around which I thought was impressive - and about time!
