Zombie Love

I just checked out Mail Order Zombie's review of Zombie Hunters: City of the Dead. And they like it!!! Huzzah!! Brother D and Bren also gave me the nicest shout-out. They are SO cool. And they dug the show. I swear that they could both fit in with the crazy group we're all in over here. Sometimes, the Internet really does bring people together in the coolest ways. So go and download the episode!

I have to harass Patrick about t-shirts before the weekend is out, because if we're hitting Chiller in May, we need shirts. And then I'll get the CafePress store up.

Okay, I'm rambling. Time to get back to work. But maybe, first, some more coffee...

Cool News!

Exciting stuff is happening with Zombie Hunters! I recently started listening to a new podcast called Mail Order Zombie, which covers indie and straight-to-DVD zombie movies. It's a really entertaining show with some good commentary from the host, Brother D, and his wife - always nice to get a female horror fan talking. We've traded some e-mails, I sent him a copy of Episode 1, and it's getting reviewed on an upcoming episode!! I was so excited when I got the e-mail. I'll make sure to blog about the episode when it's up, but in the meantime, check out the show if horror is your thing. I think you'll dig it.

Zombie Hunters Premiered Last Night!!

Zombie Hunters premiered last night - did you catch it? If not, fear not - QPTV (Channel 35, 85 if you've got RCN) will run it again on Monday night, 11:30 p.m. DVR it, stay up late and watch it, set your VCR if you still have one that works - catch the show. It's cool, it's fun, and it's got our friends in it. And zombies! What's not to love?
And if by chance you don't live in Queens and want to check it out, let me know - I've got DVDs aplenty. Or, if you're the impatient type, head on over to YouTube and search for ZombieBoy66's videos - Patrick's got some clips uploaded to satisfy your undead lust.
Support home-grown horror! Support your friends!

Keep an eye out for this logo, you'll be seeing it a lot soon... in the meantime, check out the site here.
Crochet Girl

I've decided to pick up an honest-to-goodness crochet pattern and give it a shot. I picked an "easy" one from an old issue of Family Circle Easy Knitting & Crochet, and found a cute capelet. Astonishingly, it's not making me pull my hair out while I jam the crochet hook into my eyes. I think it's - dare I say? - kind of cute. I'll take pictures soon.

It's so funny, I learned to crochet first - over 10 years ago, now - and never really advanced beyond scarves and blankets, all done in either single, double or triple crochet and that was that. So now I feel obligated to try and learn more.

Still hanging by the telephone, to paraphrase Blondie. I spent most of the late afternoon in bed. Have to shake it off. It's hard.

One thing that's helping, though, is actually doing marketing and publicity stuff for my buddy Dan's book, Closet Monsters: Zombied Out and Tales of Gothrotica. ISO has picked up the book (and they didn't even need a reader report from me, hee hee) and hopefully, he'll start getting some press. I also wrote the press release, if I may say so myself. Now, we've got to get the GLBT press to be aware of the book. I'm checking out different search engines to submit his site to.

And I've also started doing marketing and publicity for Patrick's upcoming show, Zombie Hunters: City of the Dead. This has been a blast; I've started submitting the sites to search engines, found a bunch of horror search engines, and am trying to get a table for the show to exhibit at the HorrorFind weekend in August. And I'm fooling around with a CafePress boutique, too. So more on all of that once it's ready to go.
